VENUS USV overview
The VENUS is an unmanned surface vessel developed by Israel Aerospace Industries for maritime security, ISR, and mine countermeasures operations. The medium-size vessel (approximately 10 meters) features a rigid hull design optimized for coastal and littoral operations, with the ability to carry various sensor and weapon payloads. The VENUS can operate autonomously or via remote control, navigating independently while complying with maritime traffic regulations.
The VENUS has been designed to complement IAI's broader unmanned systems portfolio, including the Katana mine countermeasures USV and other maritime platforms. The vessel can deploy towed sensors for mine detection, carry EO/IR payloads for maritime surveillance, or mount weapon systems for force protection missions. As of 2025, IAI has been marketing the VENUS to international naval customers seeking affordable unmanned maritime capabilities.
