C-Worker 7 overview
The C-Worker 7 is an autonomous surface vessel developed by L3Harris Technologies (originally ASV Global) for maritime survey, environmental monitoring, and naval operations. The approximately 7.7-meter vessel is designed for extended autonomous operations in open ocean conditions, carrying various sensor payloads including multibeam sonar, hydrographic survey equipment, and environmental sensors. The C-Worker 7 can operate continuously for up to 30 days, making it suitable for persistent maritime surveillance.
The C-Worker 7 has been used by military, government, and commercial customers for hydrographic survey, marine research, and maritime domain awareness. The vessel features L3Harris's ASView autonomous control system, which enables complex autonomous operations including pre-programmed survey patterns, collision avoidance, and dynamic re-planning. As of 2025, the C-Worker 7 has been deployed globally for various maritime missions. Its significance lies in demonstrating the commercial viability of long-endurance autonomous surface vessels for both military and civilian applications, bridging the gap between defense and commercial maritime autonomy.
