RoBattle overview
The RoBattle is an autonomous unmanned ground vehicle developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). Based on a 6x6 wheeled platform weighing approximately 1,500 kg, the RoBattle is designed for armed reconnaissance, convoy protection, perimeter security, and other combat support missions. The vehicle features modular mission payloads and can be equipped with remote weapon stations, sensors, radar systems, and electronic warfare equipment.
The RoBattle incorporates advanced autonomous capabilities including obstacle detection and avoidance, path planning, and the ability to operate in GPS-denied environments using SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) technology. As of 2025, IAI has been marketing the RoBattle to international customers while conducting ongoing development of its autonomous capabilities. The platform can operate in fully autonomous, semi-autonomous, or teleoperated modes depending on the mission requirements. Its significance lies in IAI's integration of military-grade autonomy into a combat-capable ground platform, positioning Israel as a leader in the growing market for autonomous ground combat vehicles.
