REX MK II

REX MK II overview

The REX MK II is a small tactical unmanned ground vehicle developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). Designed for infantry support at the squad level, the REX MK II weighs approximately 150 kg and can carry up to 250 kg of payload, making it capable of transporting supplies, ammunition, and equipment for dismounted soldiers. The six-wheeled vehicle features autonomous navigation, obstacle avoidance, and the ability to follow soldiers on patrol using 'follow me' mode.

The REX MK II can be configured for various missions including logistics support, casualty evacuation, ISR (with camera mast), and even light combat support when equipped with a remote weapon station. The system has been adopted by the Israel Defense Forces and offered for export to allied nations. As of 2025, IAI has continued to improve the REX MK II's autonomous capabilities and integrate it with broader networked combat systems. Its significance lies in addressing one of the most practical challenges for infantry forces: the physical burden of carrying heavy equipment, providing a robotic 'mule' that can keep pace with dismounted troops in rough terrain.
