Mission Master overview

The Mission Master is a family of autonomous unmanned ground vehicles developed by Rheinmetall Canada (formerly Rheinmetall Mission Master). The modular 8x8 wheeled platform is designed for various military missions including cargo transport, ISR, force protection, casualty evacuation, and fire support. The vehicle can carry payloads up to 600 kg and features a hybrid diesel-electric drivetrain for silent mobility. Different mission modules can be quickly swapped to reconfigure the vehicle for different tasks.

The Mission Master has been evaluated by several NATO armed forces and has participated in multinational exercises demonstrating autonomous convoy following, waypoint navigation, and sensor deployment capabilities. As of 2025, Rheinmetall has delivered Mission Master systems to various military customers for testing and operational evaluation. The armed variant can mount weapon stations for direct fire support, while the cargo variant provides robotic logistics capability. Its significance lies in Rheinmetall's comprehensive approach to military UGVs, offering a single platform that can address multiple mission requirements through quick module changes, reducing the logistical burden of maintaining separate specialized vehicles.
