Marker overview

The Marker is an experimental unmanned ground vehicle platform developed by the Russian robotics company Android Technics in collaboration with the National Technology Initiative. Designed as a testbed for autonomous ground vehicle technologies, the Marker platform comes in both tracked and wheeled variants, weighing between 3-7 tonnes depending on configuration. The system is intended to test autonomous navigation, target recognition, convoy following, and coordinated multi-robot operations.

The Marker has been demonstrated with various weapon systems including machine guns, grenade launchers, and anti-tank missiles. During testing at Russian military facilities, it has demonstrated autonomous patrol, obstacle avoidance, and target identification capabilities. As of 2025, the Marker remains primarily a technology demonstrator, with lessons learned intended to feed into future Russian military UGV programs. Reports have suggested potential deployment to Ukraine in limited testing roles, though this remains unconfirmed. Its significance lies in Russia's attempt to develop autonomous ground vehicle technology that can eventually be scaled to operational military robots, though the program faces challenges from sanctions affecting electronic components.
