KALKAN overview

KALKAN DİHA is Baykar's hybrid VTOL fixed-wing tactical ISR aircraft, using lift motors and internal-combustion forward propulsion. It is advertised unarmed, with EO/IR, tracker, and laser-rangefinder payload options for surveillance and target acquisition.

Baykar claims the listed dimensions, 55-KIAS speed, six-hour endurance, 10,000-ft ceiling, 3-kg payload, and 78-kg MTOW. Its 70+ km figure is a communications range rather than a published mission range, which limits direct performance comparisons.

It was first announced in 2019, according to reporting. Baykar does not publicly identify a purchaser or operator, so operator countries and fielding status remain undisclosed.
