The Elbit Hermes 900 is a medium-altitude, long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Elbit Systems. First flown in 2009, the Hermes 900 serves as the backbone of the Israeli Defense Forces' tactical UAS fleet and has been exported to numerous countries worldwide. The aircraft has a maximum takeoff weight of approximately 1,180 kg, can carry 350 kg of payload, and features an endurance of over 36 hours. It is equipped with multi-sensor payloads including EO/IR cameras, synthetic aperture radar, and signals intelligence equipment.

As of 2025, the Hermes 900 has been selected by multiple customers including Switzerland, Brazil, Mexico, the Philippines, and various European nations. The Hermes 900 StarLiner variant has been certified for flight in civilian airspace, a significant milestone for unmanned aircraft. Elbit has also developed an armed version capable of carrying precision-guided munitions. The platform's significance lies in its versatility, proven combat record, and regulatory approval for civilian airspace operations, making it attractive to both military and civil security customers. It represents a key pillar of Israel's position as a leading global drone exporter.
