RAM II

RAM II overview

The RAM II is a Ukrainian-developed loitering munition designed for precision strike against armored vehicles, fortifications, and other high-value targets. Developed by a Ukrainian defense company, the RAM II features a distinctive tandem-wing configuration and carries an anti-armor warhead capable of penetrating reactive armor. The system is designed to be man-portable and launched from a compact tube or rail, allowing front-line infantry units to engage targets at ranges of up to 30 km.

The RAM II emerged as one of many domestically developed loitering munitions that Ukraine has fielded during the ongoing conflict with Russia. As of 2025, the platform has been used operationally against Russian positions and armored vehicles in the Donbas region and along other active front lines. The Ukrainian defense industry has rapidly iterated on the design, improving guidance systems, warhead effectiveness, and resistance to electronic warfare. The RAM II's significance lies in Ukraine's remarkable ability to develop and field indigenous precision strike drones under wartime conditions, filling capability gaps that Western aid packages cannot always address quickly enough.
