One-Way Effector (OWE) overview

MBDA's One-Way Effector is a French long-range expendable strike aircraft intended to combine missile-grade mission planning and guidance with drone-industry production economics. Unveiled at the Paris Air Show in June 2025, the program is designed for massed attacks that complicate and saturate sophisticated enemy air defenses while preserving more costly cruise missiles for priority targets.

France's DGA awarded MBDA the first development and production contract in January 2026. MBDA describes a sovereign system in the several-hundred-kilometer range class and an innovative production partnership capable of rapid scale-up.

The final airframe dimensions, engine, speed, payload, ceiling, and fielding date remain undisclosed while development continues. The profile records the signed contract and stated mission rather than treating the exhibition model as an operational weapon; the central question for the program is whether industrial scale can be achieved without sacrificing guidance and reliability.
