FV-014
Long-Range Reconnaissance / Precision Strike
Also known as: Rheinmetall FV-014 / FV-014 loitering munition

FV-014 overview
FV-014 is Rheinmetall's long-range reconnaissance and precision loitering-munition system. The aircraft is designed to find and attack unarmored targets and infrastructure at approximately 100 km while using electro-optical sensors, networked control, and navigation intended to function in GNSS-interfered environments. Multiple launch options allow the munition to support dispersed units or larger salvos.
Germany signed a multibillion-euro framework agreement with Rheinmetall in April 2026, giving the program a procurement pathway rather than leaving it as a private demonstrator. In August, Rheinmetall successfully launched FV-014 from its Containerized Missile Launcher, demonstrating compatibility with a modular launcher designed for rapid deployment and reload.
A complete public specification set has not been released, so only the stated range class and mission features are included. The contract and containerized-launch demonstration together suggest a system being shaped for repeatable field logistics, not simply a trade-show concept.
