Mohajer-6 overview

The Mohajer-6 is a tactical unmanned aerial vehicle developed by Qods Aviation Industry, an entity linked to the Iranian defense establishment. Part of the long-running Mohajer drone family that dates back to the Iran-Iraq War, the Mohajer-6 represents a significant modernization with improved endurance, payload capacity, and the ability to carry precision-guided munitions including the Qaem series of smart bombs. The aircraft has an endurance of approximately 12 hours and can operate at altitudes up to 5,500 meters.

The Mohajer-6 has been used extensively by Iranian-backed forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in operations across the Middle East. It gained international attention after being reportedly deployed by the Houthis in Yemen and various Iranian proxy groups. As of 2025, the Mohajer-6 remains a frontline Iranian UAS, with reports of technology transfer to allied groups and state actors. Its significance lies in Iran's ability to field a relatively capable armed drone using domestically produced components despite decades of international sanctions, demonstrating the proliferation of armed drone technology to non-Western nations.
