BOYGA overview
BOYGA is STM's tactical quadcopter for delivering an 81 mm mortar round to a selected point. It uses a stabilized release arrangement and mission software to support aerial placement of a compatible munition, rather than carrying a conventional gun or missile. The concept gives small units an indirect-fire option from a drone launch position, but the aircraft's effect depends on the approved ammunition, release solution, and operator's targeting process.
STM claims up to 30 minutes of flight endurance and describes a one-round 81 mm mortar-munition payload for the BOYGA configuration. Range, speed, dimensions, maximum take-off mass, communications limits, environmental envelope, release accuracy, and the complete approved ammunition set are configuration-dependent or Not publicly disclosed. The carried mortar round is a released munition; BOYGA itself is not an onboard gunship, and catalog artwork does not prove a particular payload housing.
STM introduced BOYGA publicly in 2022 and has demonstrated it as part of the company's tactical unmanned-system portfolio. Public Turkish reporting has described security-force interest and deliveries, but it does not provide a complete independently verified operator inventory or every field configuration. As of September 12, 2026, BOYGA is a documented Turkish tactical system whose quantities and operational experience remain only partly public.
