ZEUS FPV overview

The ZEUS FPV is a military-grade first-person-view attack drone developed by Vayu Aerospace in collaboration with Finnish defense industry partners, designed specifically for frontline strike missions inspired by the revolutionary FPV warfare tactics that emerged during the Ukraine conflict. Entering service around 2023, the ZEUS features a compact quadcopter platform measuring 350 millimeters in length with a 250-millimeter motor-to-motor wingspan, weighing just 0.8 kilograms including its integrated warhead payload. The drone is optimized for one-way attack missions, carrying shaped charge or fragmentation warheads capable of defeating light armored vehicles, field fortifications, and personnel targets at ranges up to 10 kilometers with approximately 15 minutes of flight time.

The ZEUS FPV represents the industrialization of FPV combat drone tactics that were pioneered by improvised systems on the Ukrainian battlefield, translating lessons learned from frontline innovation into a purpose-built military product with consistent manufacturing quality, reliable components, and standardized warhead integration. Unlike improvised commercial FPV drones modified for combat, the ZEUS is engineered from the ground up for military use, featuring encrypted video transmission, interference-resistant control links, and ruggedized electronics designed to function in electronic warfare environments. The platform has attracted interest from Finland and Ukraine, where the demand for affordable, mass-producible precision strike drones has fundamentally reshaped tactical warfare doctrine. The ZEUS exemplifies the emerging class of expendable tactical munitions that blur the line between drones and guided weapons.
