Replicator overview
Replicator is an unmanned-aircraft prototype developed by Lockheed Martin Skunk Works with Divergent Technologies and publicly revealed in June 2026. The partners designed and built the aircraft in less than twelve months using digital engineering and additive manufacturing. Its purpose is to demonstrate a faster path from requirement to flyable hardware rather than to advertise a fixed operational mission.
The aircraft is separate from the Department of Defense Replicator initiative, a 2023 procurement effort covering many autonomous systems. This naming distinction prevents the prototype from inheriting the initiative's goals or fielding claims.
Lockheed has not released the prototype's dimensions, engine, speed, range, payload, ceiling, or intended operator. It is cataloged as a rapid-manufacture technology demonstrator, with future mission development still unconfirmed. The lasting value of the effort may be the production process itself: short design cycles could let operators iterate airframes as quickly as threat requirements change.
