Poseidon H10 MkIII overview
Poseidon H10 MkIII is a Ukrainian VTOL reconnaissance aircraft for battlefield surveillance, target acquisition, and artillery fire correction. Lift rotors allow takeoff and landing from confined positions, after which the aircraft transitions to efficient fixed-wing flight. Its sensor fit includes high-resolution daylight and thermal cameras, while navigation and control were strengthened for operation under Russian electronic warfare.
Testing began in 2022, and Ukraine's Ministry of Defence announced codification and adoption of the domestically produced Poseidon system in January 2025. Public reporting commonly cites range up to 145 km, speed around 75 km/h, and typical missions of roughly three hours.
The aircraft can avoid obstacles autonomously and is intended to maintain observation long enough to detect targets, correct artillery fire, and assess results without exposing a crewed aircraft. Its VTOL transition gives artillery units a runway-independent sensor that can be repositioned as the front and electronic-warfare environment change.
