Outlaw Gen 3 overview
Outlaw Gen 3 is the newest publicly identified version of Griffon Aerospace's reusable target-drone family. Outlaw aircraft support air-defense training and weapons development by carrying telemetry, scoring, signature augmentation, electronic payloads, and other equipment that allows them to represent realistic airborne threats during live-fire testing.
On 3 June 2026, the U.S. Army awarded Griffon Aerospace a $67.9 million firm-fixed-price contract for Outlaw Gen 3 aircraft and support. The award confirms procurement but reveals little about the Gen 3 configuration.
Rather than repeating figures from older Outlaw models, DroneStrike leaves dimensions, speed, range, endurance, and payload capacity undisclosed until a generation-specific data sheet appears. The system is unarmed and should be understood as a test and threat-simulation platform whose value is measured by the realism and repeatability of the training threat.
